Check attachment compatibility before dispatch
Coordinate the carrier, coupling, hydraulic requirements and intended task before hiring an attachment.

Give the attachment provider the machine make, model and identifying details requested. A broad excavator weight class is not enough to establish compatibility. Ask the provider to verify the coupling and any hydraulic or electrical requirements against the actual machine. Keep the confirmation linked to the hire order so a substituted carrier triggers another check.
Describe material and expected use
Explain what the attachment will work on, the expected duty and any access restrictions. Ask whether additional hoses, controls, guards or setup are included. Confirm who performs installation and checks the combination before use. Do not infer compatibility from a photograph or a listing that mentions the same broad equipment category.
Coordinate delivery and return
Check whether the attachment travels fitted to the machine or arrives separately. Identify who receives any loose components and where the original bucket or attachment will be stored. Record supplied parts at handover and agree the return configuration. Missing accessories can interrupt work even when both the carrier and attachment arrive on time.
Put it into practice
If a carrier comes from one supplier and an attachment from another, identify who confirms the combination before either is dispatched. Share the actual model references and have the relevant suppliers check the connection and operating requirements. List the fittings and accessories that must arrive, and record who installs and familiarises the operator with the package. At return, use that same list to reconcile the equipment. A single written compatibility confirmation is more useful than separate assurances that each item is generally available.
